Manifesto

Dearest Voter’s,

 

There are only two certainties in life – DEATH AND TAXES

I cannot control my own demise, but I’m hoping that by standing in this election I have an element of control on how much tax I will be liable to pay on my hard earned money. 

Do you want the same?

 

I am very aware of the problems we currently face in Guernsey. These were recently highlighted in a report by the Chamber of Commerce  - Voice of Guernsey Business Insight Report, and I’m in complete agreement with their findings.  

Can we overcome these issues? Definitely. 

How? It’s simple - by electing the right people who will make it happen.

 

LET’S ACT – take action through collaboration, whilst keeping you informed about why and how, to achieve the desired outcome.

I want to get involved in making sure that the future policies and practises we put in place are realistic, fair, with clear well communicated direction, are attainable and sustainable.

 

Who am I?

I’m a Queenager.

I am of an age to know better, but young enough to still take the risk! Recently divorced mum of two beautiful daughters, who calls Guernsey home. But more than just home, it’s a place I love, that feels safe to me, where folks still care for the welfare of others and quality of life is good. I love living here.

 

A bit about my life experience

I’m accounting qualified (boring!) which means I can read and understand a set of accounts. I have been involved in the retail and hospitality sectors, in both an employee and owner capacity. I currently own a successful event production company which has kept  me busy for the last 15 years. I know first hand the risks and rewards to running my own business.

 

So now you know the basics, still asking why I’m standing? 

As part of a demographic that controls 75% of discretionary household spending, why are there so few women represented in the States of Guernsey.

I feel women need to have more of an impact on matters that affect us directly.

Let the voice of our opinion be heard a lot more loudly.

I’m ready to fight for principles that are fair and represent the people who will be affected by them.

 

I believe through collaboration and compromise so much more can be achieved. 

I envisage this collaboration to include not only the elected States Deputies, but all parties with a vested interest in the outcome.
